1. Delivering Boxes: It generally takes about 60 to 90 minutes to deliver 10-12 boxes including the time to drive into the city from Pearce Church. This instruction sheet will always be available in the Pearce Family Life Center from Saturday, Nov 23rd to Monday, Nov 25th. Boxes for delivery may be picked up at the following times:
Saturday, November 23rd from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sunday, November 24th from 12:00 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Monday, November 25th from 9:00 a.m. to 4 p.m.
2. If possible, please go in groups of 2 or more to make deliveries.
3. Pick up MAPS at the MAP TABLE. Each MAP contains the family name and address as well as any special instructions and their telephone number.
4. Load one box and one turkey per family. All packed boxes are the same, so you do not have to match a specific box to a name. Boxes are in the Family Life Center at Pearce. On Saturday, the turkeys will be outside on the sidewalk for easy access. Any other time, the turkeys are in the freezers in the kitchen adjacent to the location of the food baskets.
5. When you deliver the basket to the family: Please, offer to share a short prayer with the family.
6. If a family is not home – do not leave on the doorstep or porch – please, do one of the following:
o Bring the box with the turkey and the MAP back to the church. Leave the box with the MAP inside the box in the Family Life Center & place the turkey in the freezer.
o Or, keep the box overnight and try to deliver the next day by setting a specific time by calling the family.
o Or, text Terry’s cell (585-224-5730) for another name to deliver in the area you are in and then text the name/address you did not deliver
7. For the completed deliveries, it is helpful if you can return the maps to Pearce Church with a mark or note on each completed map. We understand if you cannot get the maps back to Pearce. Feel free to text Terry (585-224-5730) with your completed deliveries.
