Volunteer Spotlight

Summer Meal Program

Summer is the hungriest time of the year. Many children who rely on school meals struggle to get enough to eat during the summer months. Our Summer Meal Programs was a success because of faithful volunteers:

Children serving other children, how awesome!

It is important that parents instill into their children to give of the time and resources. They are never to young to learn how to serve others and to sow into the work of the Lord, at church and in ministry programs. Children as well as adults learn very quickly, that when they volunteer to bless others, in return they are blessed.

Thanks Girls,

Keep showing the love of Christ to those who need it the most!

Diane Costenoble

Diane volunteered in our Summer Meals Program, before going work this summer. What a blessing!

She is currently volunteering as our bookkeeper. Who knew, but God

that this relationship would go

beyond the summer!

Special Thanks

To Pastor Rob and staff for instilling in your members the importance of serving. Putting their faith into action!

To Jack, who is faithful at his job, connecting the church with

inner-city ministries.

Stopped by the mission and you should have seen the faces of the children when they saw them come in. Most of the children had not seen them since the tutoring program

last year. Their faces were full of joy and the hugs followed. They were happy to receive the "healthy"

home cooked meal. They very

much enjoy the food. I surprised

them and it was worth it.

Mary volunteered in the Summer Meal Program, serving food to to the children until her services were needed in the food pantry. Mary always has a smile on her face. The families who came for food enjoyed seeing a new face. Especially one who serves with a smile.

Amari Washington

Many of you may know Amari, Pastor Barbara's eldest granddaughter. She is a high school senior. Hard to believe she will be graduating May 2020. Amari has always made time to give back to her community. She has served at the mission since she was a child. The Scripture says, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he/she is old he will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6, NKJV).

Over the years Amari has served at the mission; putting away food, cleaning, wrapping Christmas gifts for children, working in the office (typing, filing and answering the phone) and in the summer camp program.

Thanks, Amari

 Dave Welker

Thanks for the monetary donation from the Sunday School offering and the tickets to the Red Wings Game w/ lunch. Serval parents came this year and as always we had a lot of fun.

You represent your church (Webster Bible) and your place of employment (Red Wings) well. Most of all your work in not done in vain, because your "Father" in heaven sees all

that you do for those in need.
